Inauguration of Center of Excellence on Vegetables and Flowers

Inauguration of Center of Excellence on Vegetables and Flowers was held at RARS Ambalavayal on 16.12.2020. Welcome address to the programme was given by Sri. V S Sunil Kumar (Hon. Minister of Agriculture, Kerala).  Dr. Vishwas Mehta (Chief Secretary, Govt. of Kerala) underscored the importance of Indo Dutch Collaboration in Agriculture. Smt. Ishita Roy (Principal Secretary & Agriculture production commissioner, Kerala) explained the project details and also pointed out that the agro climatic situations in Kerala is highly suitable for the imported vegetable and flowers. Sri. Narendra Singh Tomar (Hon. Minister of agriculture and farmer’s welfare, Govt.of India) was very happy to participate in this program and he said that the project is really meant for Kerala state. Also, the project will help the other horticultural crops especially spices apart from the main objectives of this project. Sri. Pinarayi Vijayan (Chief Minister of Kerala) inaugurated the function. Mr. Martene Van Den Berg (Ambassador of the Netherlands to India), Sri. K Rajan (Hon. Chief whip, Govt. of Kerala & Executive member KAU), Mr. Venu Rajamony (Ambassador of India to the Netherlands), Sri. I C Balakrishnan (Hon. MLA of Sulthan Bathery), Sri. C K Saseendran (Hon. MLA of Kalpetta), Dr. R Chandrababu (Hon. Vice Chancellor KAU), Smt. Seetha Vijayan (Grama Panchayat President, Ambalavayal). Sri. Saji John (State Horticulture Mission, Mission Director) and Dr. K Ajith Kumar (ADR, RARS Ambalavayal) gave the felicitations.
